My counseling approach
How I approach Christian counseling
I bring a long background in adult discipleship, volunteer leadership, and church-based care, alongside training in Christian counseling. My style is measured and conversational. Rather than trying to cover every concern at once, we identify the pressures that are most immediate and the patterns that keep recurring. I often ask about a typical week, the people involved, and the responsibilities that are chosen versus assumed. Where appropriate, we discuss how support from trusted people can be requested without sharing more than you want to share. I come from a Reformed Christian tradition and am comfortable working with people who describe their faith differently. I use Scripture in context and discuss its application together. Prayer can be included with permission. I aim to leave space for the difference between knowing what one believes and finding it difficult to live with present circumstances.
