My counseling approach
How I approach Christian counseling
For many years I have been involved in church visitation, caregiver support, and adult Christian education. My Christian counseling training strengthened an interest I already had in the stories people carry through later life. I am comfortable with a thoughtful pace, but I also value practical conversation about boundaries, family decisions, daily routines, and asking for help. We may return to a concern more than once. Progress is not measured by having fewer feelings or being able to offer a quick explanation for a difficult experience. The Lutheran tradition shapes my understanding of grace, vocation, and the limits of what we can control. I invite discussion of Scripture and prayer without expecting a particular emotional response. Doubt and weariness can be spoken about plainly. I want our conversations to respect your own history of faith and community.
