My counseling approach
How I approach Christian counseling
I began working with couples through church-based mentoring and later pursued structured Christian counseling training. My approach is practical and collaborative. We consider what was said, what was understood, and what each person was hoping would happen. I often help people put a concern into words that are both honest and specific. I pay attention to family background and expectations without treating either as a complete explanation for present behavior. Changes are approached in small, observable steps rather than sweeping promises. I work from an evangelical Christian perspective. Scripture can help us think about truth, care, repair, and responsibility, but it should not be used to silence someone's experience. I ask before including prayer and welcome discussion about denominational differences or concerns about prior counseling experiences.
