My counseling approach
How I approach Christian counseling
My background includes many years of adult discipleship, church leadership, and community visitation, followed by focused Christian counseling training. I bring a calm, practical style and an interest in the details of a person's story. We may consider a long-standing disagreement, the changes around retirement, or how a loss has affected family life. I try to distinguish between what can be changed, what needs to be grieved, and where additional support would be useful. I value the time it takes to understand a concern before offering a suggestion. My Christian perspective is Presbyterian/Reformed. Scripture and prayer can be central parts of our work when that is helpful to you. I do not expect difficult experiences to fit a simple explanation, and I welcome questions about what faith means in the present season of life.
