Before you start
Have your practice and payout details ready. Review the current payment fees and terms on the payment screen. Your FFT software subscription is billed separately.
Follow these steps
1. Open Payments
Choose Payments in the counselor workspace. Read the setup or availability message.
Open payments2. Complete the offered Stripe setup
Open Prices & payment setup when offered and follow Stripe's connected-account setup. Enter the requested information directly in Stripe and review its terms yourself. Return to Payments and check that setup is complete.
3. Prepare and review a request
Open Clients, choose the intended client, and open their Payments section. Choose the option under Request payment for. Check the recipient, amount, and terms before selecting Add payment request. Keep private counseling details out of payment descriptions.
Open clients4. Check the new request
Add payment request creates the request in the client's portal. Check its details and status. It does not charge the client automatically, and a request or invoice is not proof that they paid.
5. Check payment status
Open the payment record to review the confirmed status and any receipt, invoice, or refund information. Use the offered refund process only after reviewing the amount and effect.
What happens next
Confirmed payment records show what was paid to your counselor account. The independent counselor sets their fees and is responsible for the counseling service and its terms.
If you get stuck
- Stripe setup is incomplete or payments are unavailable.
- Follow the missing-information prompt in Stripe or the availability message on Payments. Contact support if setup is complete but the page still reports a problem.
- A client says they paid, but I cannot confirm it.
- Review the payment record and Stripe status before requesting another payment. A pending payment, sent invoice, or client message alone does not establish settlement.
Still need help? Contact support. Tell us which page you used and what happened. Leave out passwords, payment-card details, and private client information.
