Before you start

Have access to the email address you want to use. If you already have an account, sign in with it.

Follow these steps

  1. 1. Choose your account path

Open the sign-in page and choose Create account. Choose counselee, counselor, or organization to match what you want to do. If you came from a signup link, the account type may already be selected.

    Open sign-in and account creation
  2. 2. Create your sign-in

Enter your email and a password that meets the requirements shown. Read the terms and privacy notice, then select Create account. You can also use a sign-in provider offered on that screen.

  3. 3. Open the verification email

If email verification is requested, open the link sent to your inbox. Check Spam, Junk, and Promotions if the message is missing.

  4. 4. Return and check your status

Return to the signup screen and select Check verification status. If needed, select Resend verification email and use the newest message.

  5. 5. Use the same sign-in next time

Choose Sign in and use the same email or provider. On a phone, open the site menu to find your account or workspace.

What happens next

You can continue to the account or setup page you selected. Creating a counselor account does not pay for a plan or publish a profile.

If you get stuck

My email is already in use. What should I do?
Choose Sign in instead of making another account. Use the same provider you used originally. If you used an email and password, try Forgot your password?
I forgot my password.
On the Sign in form, enter your email and select Forgot your password? Open the reset email and set a new password. Provider sign-ins use that provider's recovery process.
The verification link did not work.
Return to sign-in, request a new verification email, and open the newest link. Check that you are signed in to the intended account before checking your status.
