Send a form for a client to complete

Prepare a form, assign it to the right client, and check its completion status.

Before you start

Open the correct client's workspace. Review any starter form and adapt it to your practice before using it.

Follow these steps

  1. 1. Choose the client

Open Clients and choose the intended person. Check their name before adding shared work.

    Open clients
  2. 2. Prepare a form

Open Forms in the client's workspace. Choose a Template when offered and select Create form. Review and edit its wording, questions, and consent terms, then use Save draft.

  3. 3. Assign and check the form

Select Assign to client, review the version you are sharing, then select Confirm. Check its status afterward. A form is not signed until the client completes the signing steps themselves.

  4. 4. Review the client's completed form

Return to Forms in the client's workspace. Open the form to check its answers and completion or signature status. If it is still waiting, ask the client to open their portal and complete it.

What happens next

The assigned form appears in the client's portal. A saved draft stays private until assigned. Clients complete and sign their own forms; assigning a form does not sign it for them.

If you get stuck

The client cannot see the form.
Check that their portal invitation was accepted, that you selected the correct client, and that the form was assigned successfully.
Where do I upload a document?
Use Messages & files in the client's workspace. A document upload and a form assignment are separate tasks.
